Duxford x 2

May 26, 2012

This weekend it’s the Jubilee Airshow at Duxford, and on the Friday Andy flew us up there and back hoping to catch a few sneak previews of aircraft practicing their displays. As it happened there was not much on but it was still good fun to be coming in to land on that big runway in front of a crowd of watching aerophiles. On the day itself Andy and I took the bikes, arriving in another equally stylish manner. There were thunderous displays from an F16 and a Typhoon, plus fabulous old B17 ‘Flying Fortress’ and plenty of other modern and historic craft.

After the airshow I popped up to Swavesey to catch up with Susie – was lovely to see her and she fed me very well which was much appreciated!

Links here to Andy’s photos here of our flight, and the airshow itself.

Bluebells & Bikes

May 10, 2012

It’s May and the Bluebells are back. I love this time of year! I took these photos of the Benelli at one of my favourite spots, some woodland near Clement’s End just North of Hemel, the other side of Gaddesden Row. It’s so pretty I had to go back there with the Ducati a week later 🙂

It’s the May Bank Holiday and we are visiting Ursie, Annette and Dani in Bristol as it is Nettie’s 18th Birthday. We celebrated with a cake and a trip the the Ten-pin bowling alley in Bristol with Kev, Di, Lucy and Bo and assorted kids. Annette won, beating me into second place on the last round. Had a lovely time and also popped in to Cabot Circus, Bristol’s swanky new shopping area. It’s good – not a mall; more interesting than that. Very well done actually!

Turkish Night

May 4, 2012

We met up with Madz, Anisha, Rakesh, Parin and Bhaven at Izgara, a Turkish restaurant in Finchley for some fab food and plenty of chat. Actually we met up at a pub down the road, but once all had assembled we headed to Izgara about 7:30. It’s not the first time we’ve been there as it is near where Madhvi works, but it’s very much recommended!
