Home work

Smeeta was having a Spa day with Tara and Rekha-masi this Sunday, so I figured I’d better use the time wisely. The garage roof has been leaking for a while so I got up there and brushed back all the loose gravel layer and set about filling any cracks I could find with some amazingly gunky roofing mastic – a tar-like substance containing hair-like fibres to bind it together. I then painted over it with special waterproof paint, so hopefully that will do it!

Update: we’ve had some heavy rain since, and it appears to be doing the job 🙂

Not content with that I got the sudden urge to paint the frames of the wardrobes in our bedroom. The result is quite startling but I’m getting used to it, gradually…!
